3D Printed Face Shields
A $30 donation delivers 10 Face Shields to health care workers.
Open doors, push elevators buttons, stay safe.
We’re currently focusing our efforts on responding to the urgent need to quickly produce and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers on the frontlines of the Covid-19 global pandemic.
As we are all too familiar with this story by now, our healthcare heroes around the country are facing a dire shortage of PPE, such as face shields, that protect workers from contaminated droplets.
ReAllocate volunteers have created an easy-to-produce face shield based on open-sourced designs that we’ll donate to hospitals and healthcare workers. These shields are 3D printed and fitted with transparency film, which can ship easily all over the country. On April 2, we sent our first shipment of shields to an ER doctor in Seattle!
How can you help?
Donate $30 to cover the costs for producing and shipping ten 3D printed face shields for frontline health workers and you will get a Hookey in the mail.
We are producing the Hookey, based on open-source designs, a no-touch ring that allows you to open doors, press buttons, dial collect on a payphone, all without touching those grimy surfaces.
We hope you’re doing your part by practicing physical isolation measures to flatten the curve. But we also know that some people do have to leave – and we thank all the front-line healthcare workers, delivery drivers, store clerks and those who don’t have the luxury of working from home.
So if you do have to venture out, keep your hands clean by using this no-touch Hookey.
Please help us get as many masks out to healthcare workers who are risking their health every day to treat Covid-19 patients.
